Celebrities often have some of the most lavish and breathtaking weddings, since they are usually able to pay for more extravagant locations, decorations, and clothing. Many individuals enjoy keeping up on the wedding plans of their favorite celebrities, since they often will be quite an event.

When finding the perfect wedding dress, one of the most popular designers to the stars is Vera Wang. Her collection runs from $2,000 – $7,000 per dress, and some are priced as high as $12,000. Some of the popular celebrities who have worn her designs include Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, and Mariah Carey. Other top designers have bridal collections, which are often featured in celebrity weddings.

Luxurious honeymoon locations and destination weddings are also popular choices among celebrities. Some elect for beachfront ceremonies in beautiful places such as Bora Bora, Mexico, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean. These resorts can provide breathtaking sunset backdrops and plenty of lodging for the bridal party and invited guests. Some celebrities prefer a more secluded location, such as snow capped mountains in Park City, Utah or the deserts in Arizona. Many of the top stars try to keep the location of their ceremonies a secret, to keep paparazzi and other individuals who weren’t invited away from the big day.

Though the average bride doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on her wedding, it can be fun to get ideas from celebrity weddings, as well as keep up on the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Each person’s wedding day can be special and personal, and remembered for years to come.

With advertising prices at an all-time high many businesses have turned to the internet to do their own advertising through the use of personal websites. With the internet being such an intricate part of everyday life, not having a functional website could be killing your business.

Benefits of Having a Web Design Presence:

• Having a website opens your business up to so many more customers than just the foot traffic that might typically peruse your wares.

• It’s not just customer’s that are gathering information. Someone sees your website and hears about your services, then tells a friend who tells a friend. Word of mouth via website visits is crucial to the growth of many businesses.

• Many companies create their own commercials and advertise new products through commercials on their own website. By eliminating the radio or television advertiser, companies have the ability to spend that money on other areas of their business.

• If your web design is set up to capture customer questions and information, said company is able to generate quality leads from people that are actually interested in your products and services.

• One stop shopping: One of the gigantic benefits of having a web presence is customers being able to do their shopping online. If they see a product they like, are able to purchase it right then and there on the spot, this customer will come back again.

• Companies with a web presence tend to expand their market share. With the proper search engine optimization, a company’s services will be looked at by people across the country and even across the world.

When you first set out to be a web designer, you are going to run into one simple problem before you ever work on soliciting a client. You probably won’t start out knowing anything about how to code up a website. If this is the case, you are going to have a lot of learning to do. After you learn to code, there will also be more to it on a non-technical front.

First off, you need to learn how to code up a website. This has a lot of components to it, and every website you code is going to be a little bit neater than the last one was. Practice your code relentlessly, and in time you will get much better at it. As time goes on, your understanding of the logic involved in web design will improve dramatically. At first, even the most basic html code will be confusing. Over time, however, more sophisticated types of languages are going to become more easy to decipher for you.

However, the technical aspects are only one component of the process of being a web designer. You also need to learn the art of marketing your services. If ever there were two types of processes more different from one another, they were coding up web pages and marketing to human beings. Simply put, you have to understand why people buy, and figure out how to get them to buy from you. Solve a problem for them, and you will move a long way toward knowing how to do this. Just never fall into the trap of thinking your work sells itself.

If you are reading this article on the Internet, you’re making an indirect use of the technology components we are going to discuss here. Clearly, the importance of the Web-based technologies required for creating and publishing content on the Internet does not need an explanation. However, it raises few obvious questions, such as what programming languages are required to build a Web page or a Web application. This article briefly discusses the programming and markup languages required to create and publish a Web page.

Image via Wikipedia

Markup Language for the Internet

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is the language that is required for authoring and publishing a Web page. In other words, whatever you see on a Web browser is written in the HTML language. If you want to write your own Web pages from scratch, learning HTML coding is an essential step.

Programming Languages for Web Development

Whereas HTML enables you to write static Web pages, you also need to learn a Web-enabled programming language to be able to build a dynamic website or a Web application. For instance, few of the most popular programming languages for the Web are, Java, PHP, CGI-Perl, Ruby, ASP, ASP.NET etc. Among all these languages, PHP has earned an enormous popularity for relatively rapid development of dynamic websites, mainly due to its simplicity.

In addition to the programming languages, you also need components like database, various tools and utilities, version control software etc. to complete your programming task. Also, you should have an FTP client in order to transfer your developed website onto a Web server for hosting your website.

Don’t become so swept up in the macro aspects of web design that you forget how important good, clean web design is in the micro aspects of a web site. For example, think about customer surveys. You want your site overall to have an aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use design, right? If your survey doesn’t follow the same guidelines, no one will take it. Don’t skip out on the details. Here are some tips on how to make your surveys more effective and eye-catching.

Don’t Intimidate Your Survey Takers

Online surveys must be aesthetically pleasing. They should attract the eye, make the customer curious about the survey. It should at once look concise and easy to complete. Questions should be direct; your customers should not have to pause to figure out what the question is asking. Providing “check-box” or “multiple choice” answers will shorten the time it takes for a customer to take the survey. If a survey looks like it will take a long time, people will be less likely to take it. In order to get the best company analysis possible, you need as many people to take the survey as possible.

Be Creative

You want people to want to take your survey, right? Utilize a little creativity. Surveys don’t have to be boring. Use sophisticated survey software to spice up your surveys. Use attractive color schemes or interactive designs. If a survey looks fun, people are going to be more likely to take it.

To review, your surveys need to be concise, direct, and aesthetically pleasing. Follow these guidelines and your surveys will bring your company and website the best customer feedback possible.

It was once a demand for ink, the exchange of paper and carefully crafted memorandums. The times have shifted, however, and what remains is a call for digital convenience. Business has become a virtual thing — and individuals can no longer be content with simple pages. They must instead seek technology.

Choosing the correct equipment requires far more than a trek to the electronics store, however. It instead demands an understanding of what a company needs — cost efficiency, sustainability and user ease.

Determine what is required. Examine daily routines (such as data entry, inventorying and customer service conversations) and choose electronics that will best support them. Look for pieces that have multiple functions — like a printer that features scanning and faxing capabilities — to save space and dollars.

Consider beyond the traditional computers. Choose software that will accelerate the business process: items that offer spreadsheets, billing directories and human resource information. Note video technology (such as web-cameras and microphones) to offer a more direct connection with consumers. Understand the value of interfacing as well. This includes micro-blogging software, which will make interacting with employees a faster thing.

Never ignore the need for security. Select items from the electronics store that will ensure the safety of a company. Encryption codes, digital signature compilers and anti-virus software are essential. Use these to protect all information (including client names, employee records and payment practices).

The purpose of technology is to offer relief for all individuals — and businesses are no exceptions to this. They must simply embrace virtuality and examine how it can best support them.

When you design a website it can become anything you want it to be, from simple to complex, and the question of expense can range from next to nothing to a lot. As you think about designing your new website, you may be pondering the question of whether to pay a professional to design your website or to do it yourself. Depending on your needs and budget, either option could be appropriate.

Your budget is perhaps a good place to start. If you don’t have money to invest in this venture, regardless of the topic of the website, you won’t be able to finance the design of your website. Take into account the cost of running a website, such as hosting space and the theme, and get a good sense of what you can spend.

The purpose of your website should also be taken into account. After all, if you are creating an informational resource so that you can blog every now and then, it won’t be worth the money. If you are planning a business venture or something that could benefit from a top-notch design, such as a multimedia-enhanced site using software like Ares and xvid codec for your photography work for instance, then this is something to think about.

You will also need to compare your options. Depending on the foreseeable cost of a website, you have to gauge how much better that design will be than, say, something you put together from a premium blogging theme. If you don’t want to dedicate a lot of money right now, your money might be better served for advertising. You can always wait until later as well.

Designing a website can be an interesting adventure and can give you the sense of doing something yourself. However, a professional’s touch that will save you time and give you a polished result is something to think about. Either way, do some research and get going on your big idea.

There’s no doubt that as we live and breathe, more and more how-to’s are published on the ins and outs of HTML language for web design, so a lot of this content might not be surprising. But it’s always important to reinforce and educate. HTML can be tricky if you don’t understand anything about it. And even after learning, remembering how it all works is a slight challenge. It is, in essence, like learning a foreign language.

HTML began in 1980 when a physicist named Tim Berners-Lee, a contractor for a company called CERN, conceptualized a system used for transferring data called ENQUIRE. The creation of a universal language gradually followed the creation of CERN to better assist computers with the task of assimilating data and information. Enter: the Hyper Text Markup Language, or HTML. Berners-Lee created the very first system of language in 1991, a system comprised of only twenty elements, rendering an extremely simple design. To this day, even with the onset of the most advanced HTML system, HTML 4, thirteen of those elements still exist.

What HTML does is allow computers through the use of web browsers to interpret and compose text and graphics for readability. Basically, without HTML, we wouldn’t be able to view any web sites. It’s that HTML code that makes it possible to do anything online.

Needless to say, Berners-Lee knew he was on to something, as well as his constituents. This was the basis for internet browsing, and it certainly hit the marked life of an ever-growing population of pixels. HTML, the king of browsing technology.

File transfer protocol (FTP) sites give website developers an easy, secure way to manage the content of their pages. Before you can start using an FTP site, though, you will need to understand the basics of FTP and software like FileZilla. This will help you manage your content and accomplish your goals without frustration.

FTP Clients

The easiest way to use an FTP site is with an FTP client. An FTP client is simply a piece of software that lets you upload and download files. Technically, you don’t need a client to transfer files. They make the work much easier, though, because you can quickly see which files you have saved to your computer and which you have on your website. This allows you to trade files easily without worrying that you have made mistakes.

Sharing Files with Others

An FTP site can also allow you to share files with other people through the Internet. In order to give them access to your files, you will need to a static IP address and FTP server software. If you already have a website, then you will want to get an FTP address that matches the Web URL. The default static IP addresses are not very comprehensible to humans. They are just strings of digits and dots. Getting a domain name, however, makes it much easier for people to remember and find your FTP site.

There are plenty of FTP server programs like File Zilla available online. Most of them have free trial versions that will let you test the software before you purchase it. Try several pieces of software before making a financial commitment. Just because one works fine doesn’t mean that another won’t work great.

Setting a Password

Before giving internet users access to your FTP, you will need to create a password that proves they have permission. Choosing a random password rather than one that means something to you helps prevent people from accessing your files without permission.

When you’re adding photos to a website from Photoshop you want them to look as clean as possible, because the better the images look the better your site will look. After you’ve resized your photo to 72 dpi, converted the color to RGB and balanced the color, there are a few minor touch-ups you might want to consider. Fixing red eye, face shine, and straightening up the horizon are quick fixes that can vastly improve the quality of the image you upload to your site.

Red Eye

Red eye is one of the simplest things to eliminate. Make a new layer and select a soft brush tip. Using your color palette select a dark gray. Color in the redness, then drop the opacity of the new layer until the eye looks natural. Merge the two layers.

Face Shine

You can remove face shine by doing much the same thing. Once you’ve made a new layer, use your eye dropper tool to select the person’s natural skin color. Using a soft brush tip, paint over the light areas of the face. You’ll need to select different colors because faces aren’t monochromatic. Once the face is painted in, begin to drop the opacity of the new layer. You’re looking for most of the shine to be removed, but the details of the face to show through crisply. If you need to, use the eraser tool to gently remove color away from sharp features like eye creases and laugh lines. Merge the layers when you’re done.

Tilted Horizon

Fixing the horizon line is the easiest but most often overlooked aspect of photo correction. Make sure your layer isn’t locked. Using the transform tool, grab a corner and rotate the image until the horizon line is parallel to the bottom of the frame and click to set it. If you have empty corners you can crop them out, or clone them in. Flatten, save, and you’re done.
